Well, ran 10 miles the other day. Used orthotics the whole way and felt stable. Sore muscles for about 3 days. Need to be consistent. Ordered an IM training book off of Amazon.
anyway, had a heart stress test due to some chest pain and tingling in my arm. Nurse calls today. Reports that perfusion is fine but scheduled me an echocardiogram due to the possibility of having an enlarged left ventricle.
So a googling I a go on that subject, and found this scary abstract on sudden cardiac arrest titled, “Ventricular Premature Beats in Triathletes: Still a Physiological Phenomenon?”
I suppose it would be best to die during an IronMan instead of at a computer desk while blogging.

Well I survived the Sand Point Long Bridge swim. It was a long swim. 1.75 miles or so. Did it in about 1hr 10 mins.
The first 10 minutes was all arms and fluttering feet in your face and at about 1/4 of a mile it started to spread out. I felt ok until mile 1.5 or so, and my mind started wandering. The last 500 yards I really started to stretch our my stroke, and speed. Breathing was alternate most of the way. Goggles filled with water alot at the start. All and all a great community event and I highly reccomend it.Well I survived the Sand Point Long Bridge swim. It was a long swim. 1.75 miles or so. Did it in about 1hr 10 mins.

ya wtf that’s what I said. I figure if I’m gonna make the cutoff and have plenty of time for the IM “run”-I gotta kick it in, I think I averaged 14.5 mph, took a few breaks, 1/2 subway chicken sandwich @ 70 Miles, 5x GU, and 10 big bottles of Accelerade/gatorade/water. 2 Salt tablets, and 2k Tylenole, 1k at about 75 and the other at about 95. Pinched nerve behind right scalpula flared up here and there, but was ok. Rained gushes outside Ephrata on the way back. Total time at about the 112 mark was about 8:30 I think, but had breaks here and there, total time was about 9:15 @ 120.
Then ran like a 500 yard “brick”, My neck felt numb.
map here. Round trip of course.

Whoa HO ho I am sore. Felt stable on the swim, weak on the bike, and a dead man in the desert on the run. I walked like 8 miles of the run. Won 8th to last place. Ahead of two 50 something females, and 3 hours ahead of the last gal. A serious two thumbs up to her for finishing 11 hrs! Training..Bike Bike Bike Bike /rinse REPEAT!
They have chosen the worst photographer for this year, oh well, here is a pic, and no, that is not a Mullet I am wearing from 1987. It is a bandanna I wore to guard my neck from the sun. Kept it drenched too with ice water at stops to keep core body temp down.

Now this run was funner than heck. Time was about 5:47(first marathon was 5:07). The time seeen in the foto was gun time for the pros start, then they let the average Joes go in Corrals 2 minutes apart. They had mile markers the whole way. It did not feel like a race. It felt like a bunch of crazies yelling “wahoooo” while taking over the freeway tunnels of Seattle. Took it easy after mile 15 and started walking every other mile at mile 18 since I am doing a half iron in mid July.

Fotos in the gallery.
you can see my video finish on the rnr site also.
