I was able to do a little butt wiggle dancing to some outkast and sean paul during christmas eve, but when I shook my head, I almost fell into the Christmas tree.

Recovering better, gotta take it slow still. I am driving almost normal now-
Honking and running yellow lights.

Lots of snow, was able to shovel some snow the other day. Getting semi used to one sided hearing.
Sensory overload is not present as much as before, During the first post op 2 weeks, I was overwhelmed with not having hearing spreadto 50 50 on each side, and having to adjust to 100 % coming in one ear.
My brain is still re-wiring I guess.

Finished all my meds except Antivert-probably another 2 wks of that med.

Planning to start work in another week or two perhaps just 4days a week for about a month.
Will see.

Back to the benefits issue of the disability etc, of loosing life, a limb, an eyeball etc, My current coverage does not include hearing. But newer coverage starting Jan 1 2007 includes loosing hearing-100% and down to 50% Coverage. But there are exclusions…

the causes of War, parachuting, suicide attempt, mental illness, etc, well, SICKNESS and injury resulting from Surgery due to an ILLNESS, (TUMOR) Rules me out Too, so I am not uptight thinking I could’ve received money out of loosing hearing, because I do not qualify anyway.

I think the only way you would qualify is if somebody hacks off your ear including the cochlea, or you fall on a stick and jam it up your ear, not sure.
oh well.

Drove again today to send SBI and the Brotman nurses a Christmas card and some fotos. Stopped by work to do a prog note.

Angry I cant find in any rental store disc 6 of season 2 LOST.

The last episode we saw was when Michael came back from the other side of the island looking for WALT, saw “the others”-then Shoots everyone in the end, Ana Lucia, that fat dudes girlfriend, then himself.

We think it was a manchurian candidate type brainwash the leaders of the dharma project sprang on him.
Lots of subliminal stuff in that film.
Ecko viewing the “cerebrus” smoke cloud, is full of one frame images, we used DVD pause to catch them-very cool stuff.
HEaring is a pain. I cant really understand all in a conversation, but nod and pretend I do.
Matt wrote back an email stating The Doc, indeed, will be speaking at the 5th international AN conference in Barcelona Spain-and may use me as a case study.

Drove for first time out of necessity due to my wow selling *) and having to get it to UPS -the buyer.

Motor facial nerves slowly coming back. Trigeminal slowly.
I used to not be able to “pucker up” my lips, the upper left one laid flat like Mick jigger squid lips. I still cannot blow up a balloon or swish water in my mouth wo it falling out.

am able to go a day wo eye drops.
still walk with caution. no running. no way. I’d fall down.

first sign of tear ducts on left during yawn, slowly coming back, eye does not feel irritated as before. reflex blink coming faster on left ex AN side

burning through season 2 of LOST on dvd rental.

Mr.Ecko past Hx in Nigeria episode the best so far.

Visitied my ENT expecting to get my staples out every other one starting from the bottom, and the opportunity to educate explain about this groundbreaking endo work of tumor removal…

He curtly stated he was just there to say that he was not going to take my staples out, he was not familiar with this procedure, and was not comfortable treating me due to the CSF leakage I mentioned that had stopped 5 days ago..he further stated that he thought I was going to see Mangham top traditional approach at Seattle ear-with whom he has plenty of rapport.

So in Essence, I was told that he didnt know that the guy who did the resection was a neurosurgeon-and that if so-I should see a neurosurgeon for follow up..

so….he referred me back to my PCP

I get to my PCP-he gladly takes out every other stitch then has a sit down w me explaining that the ENT nor the Neurosurgeon in town wants to see me due to them bo knowing about the procedure-not having any paperwork-and that Its just me, him, and skull base institute from afar-+ he mentioned that the neurosurgeon probably will not get paid for anything since Shahinian is doing the work from afar med management etc and that he does not want to get involved with another surgeons TURF, especially if he is not familiar with the approach.

So I call MATT up and he says, thats normal dont worry, I told him that I didnt know I was at extreme risk for meningitis at the time, but he (AND my PCP ) mentioned the CIPRO would be fighting that anyway…

So basically it comes down to me choosing my own path of treatment, ( less invasive, less barbaric etc)–and not having a whole lot of after care-but I am recovering ok and SBI has been on the ball from afar at least.

I think I will probably have to follow up with them in 3 mos and fly back down AGAIN.

Matt said the weak left eye shut, facial muscles will eventually come back–how many ANERs here visiting-how long did it take for tearing to come back? and was your motor skills weak from the start? I get the impression, the bigger the tumor, the more swelling post op the nerve goes through..GOing2 LA, states she is almost back to normal–smaller tumor perhaps?

I shouldnt feel too bad, last night a windstorm came through and knocked a neighbors tree over, it landed on their car n smashed their roof in.

I lasted 2 hrs at costco and was able to see a client for 1.2 hrs by then I was exhausted and am home now.

For those of you that are interested in why ENDO may be the future but for now, it goes against the establishment please SEE HERE.
