just got off the phone with Shahinian again,
states that the wound looks good(I sent him high rez pix) (see the foto link)
and the drip has stopped. I am to continue taking the AcetaZolamide until the bottle is out to decrease intracranial hypertension and CSF flow.

He said to see ENT this Fri to get EVERY OTHER staple out starting from the bottom. Then over the weekend, if no leak-Get the rest of the staples out Monday-Then Staple Frankenstein free@!

Still havent gotten out Xrays back yet our pre and post MRIs

just got back from some social interaction with work buddies at lunch. I ordered a salad and took to long to eat it. GOt it to go.

I did ok but now I understand my AN bretheren about the need for LIP READING, I was surrounded by friends, most of them were on my good ear right side.
I had one on my left and when he would talk I would turn and listen to him with my good ear..

that was already taken over by conversation on my right, background noise and music in the restaurant all on one side,
then my friend on my left would talk but his volume was like a 3 compared to a 8-9 of other noise, and I could not mentally seperate them,
so I found I was looking at his lips trying to grasp at what he was saying.

I think I just nodded my head yes yes yes to everything he said. I got maybe 45% of it, some context about an adoption going bad, not working out.

I did ok.

I slept in too late and my buddy who took me to the restaurant busted in the door, MARCO!, I woke up.

Sleeping heavy now, and having dOOZIE night sweats, as in sopping wet on my side and stuff. I don know if I break out into a fever in my sleep but it reminded me of malaria sweats I used to have 12 yrs ago.

Cerebral Spinal Fluid Leak has stopped. I am to take a foto of the wound and send it to Matt @ SBI for the Doc to look at and call them Wed. -tomorrow.

Looking foward to some more episodes of LOST we burned through 4 episodes lastnight. They leave you on the edge of your seat-so its good to see it on DVD to see what happens next FAST instead of having to wait a week for the next episode.  Wen likes Sawyer.

Monday, December 11, 10:39 AM – marco: yesterday I didn’t post anything.

YEsterday the drip stopped with meds shahinian gave me. side effects though were Lethargy (more than normal) and a bloody nose at night.

MAtt called today. said he didnt get the wound fotos at staff@ SBI.com email. so I had him on the phone while I mailed him the fotos.
They are looking forward to my call Wed Morning.
The Doc is on this one like nothing I’d ever seen before.

I think without the drip my Intracranial pressure is normalizing perhaps.

watched endless episodes of LOST on a dvd my friend Brian let me borrow.

I sleep on the couch still with head at 45 and legs raised, i sleep ok. New meds are putting me out of tune-lowers my mental status to like a 3 out of 5. I look drunk. Forum grp states theres usually a facial nerve swelling at 10 days postop but I dont notice. I cant close my left eye by itself. and its dry all the time. I usually raise my hand to close it to keep it safe and sound in its cave.

Planning on talking to my HR and seeing coworkers today if I can.

ALSO buying a WOW card to wean my credit card off of Monthly charges and wean my self off the cocaine mmorpg world of warcraft and ebay the fkcr.

Its been 26 mos since I joined THAT matrix and neo i mean kuato is gonna get me out.

This post is a copy paste of what I posted on my own support group site. I’m too tired to do another one.

I just got off the phone with Shahinian.
I am now about 12 days post op.

This last Tues a drip started at the base of the last staple.

I thought it was csf, wasnt sure. Called SBI, talked to Matt, said he would get back to me with a ossible prescription.
Waited.
Waited.

He called back, left a msg to see if still dripping, left a number to call.
I called direct to Shahinians right hand person (roxy) because they wanted to call meds in directly to my locl po-dunk town walgreens.
I call Walgreens today at 3-still no meds.

So I call the SBI on call service and pushed the number that corresponds with an “Emergency”.
A lady takes my name and number and number to the pharmacy.
I hang up.

Ring Ring

Shahinian on the phone.
asks if have temperture, how long dripping and how drips.
Tells me I am going to get a refill of the cipro and another med to attend to the drip.

He explained the tumor was so big that the space is still being filled and the wound needs to drain.
He then said He was going to call it in and call me back.

Hangs up.

I kinda chuckled knowing he was going to call walgreens and get the press 1 for spanish, and all the submenus needed to get into the right menu to do a presc order in.

10 mins later he calls on his cell telling me its done, and to call him back on Mon-tues and send high rez fotos of the wound.
He said that the staples shouldnt come out on Monday as previously planned.

I then mentioned I see my local ENT to get the staples out This coming Friday-he was stern and direct and said I am not do to anything till he sees the images and talks to me on Tues.

I was very impressed with him not forgetting about me and keeping me under watch from afar-especially taking the time to call me at 8pm on Sat NIGHT! Cool

Addendum 2 hrs later.

Just got back from Walgreens
Have refill of Cipro Antibiotic and

woke up @ 12. first full on night sleep. still in 45% king tut position.

did the whole kitchen of dishes. fueled mostly by anger.
sat down and almost passed out.
now going to visit greek friend kiki-a nazi occupation survivor and a grandmother to me.
